The California native made a huge impact on viewers during his short stint on television. He works as a medical device salesman and speaks sign language — both of his parents and brother are deaf. His ABC bio says that the stud is an “old-fashioned guy who loves to bring flowers to a girl on a first date. When he’s not killing it in the medical device sales game, he’s spending time with his family and watching Alabama football.” He sounds like a winner to us!

When he first arrives on the beach, the eligible bachelor happens to catch the eye of Sydney Lotuaco, which shakes up her relationship with Mike Johnson. The Sydney and Matt go on a double date with Luke Stone and Kristina Schulman, and she ends up giving him her rose during the next elimination ceremony, according to Reality Steve. Sorry, Bachelor Nation, but this is when we say goodbye to Mike.

However, Matt and Sydney’s relationship is short-lived. The following week, Bri Barnes from Colton Underwood‘s season catches his eye. They go on a date and she gives him her rose, but they split up before the overnight dates. It’s definitely tough coming into Paradise so late in the season but it seems like he made the most of his time.

It was great to see you again, Matt!
