Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo Didn’t Agree on Naming Their Daughter Dusty: ‘No, No, No Way’
Surprised? Behati Prinsloo revealed that she and her husband, Adam Levine, originally disagreed about the name Dusty for their oldest daughter. She was hell-bent against it but (obviously) came around to the sweet moniker. The Victoria’s Secret angel recounted the hilarious story during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday, May 28. It turns out, the talk show host had everything to do with the name debacle.
“Adam brought it to me pretty early in my pregnancy and he was like, ‘Ellen came up with this amazing name, Dusty,'” the 31-year-old began the tale. She was worried that the somewhat unusual name wouldn’t sit well with her family from South Africa. “And I love [singer] Dusty Springfield, so I obviously know the name, and I was like, ‘Dusty. That is not … My parents are going to think that’s a piece of dust. They’re Afrikaans. English is not their first language. Dusty, no way. No, no, no way.'”
However, it was totally meant to be. “As the months went by and the belly grew and the name kept coming in and out, she was born and she was a Dusty,” the model gushed about her now two-year-old daughter, Dusty Rose. We think the name is a perfect fit for the pint-sized cutie. The couple also shares their 15-month-old daughter, Gio Grace.
The gorgeous runway maven has really taken to motherhood and wrote the sweetest Mother’s Day tribute to her mini-mes on May 12. “My biggest accomplishment is becoming a mom to my two beautiful girls who chose me. I LOVE YOU,” she began the caption on a bikini-clad pregnancy photo. “And all the moms in my life and all around the world, Mother’s Day is every day. THANK YOU for your strength and unconditional love.”
