Amy Schumer Is ‘Shocked by the Level of Love Possible’ Since Welcoming Baby Gene
Just when Amy Schumer thought it wasn’t possible to love more, she was proven wrong thanks to her son, Gene. The 38-year-old, who welcomed her baby in May with husband Chris Fischer, got candid about the profound adoration she has for her little one.
“I didn’t know I could love someone that much no offense to my husband, who’s here,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “But yeah, I think we’re both shocked by the level of love that’s possible.”
The mom of one also gushed about how much she’s loving motherhood. “Oh god, it’s the best,” she said. “I’m so lucky.” Gene is Amy’s first child, and thanks to him, now she also understands what parenting is like. As a result, it’s changed her outlook “in a million ways,” she revealed. “I’m just nicer to my mom.”
Like any new mom, Amy is obsessed with her baby, and friends have quickly taken notice of that. “She’s doing great. She’s so happy,” Bridget Everett divulged to Us Weekly said in July. “She’s so in love. I’ve never seen her like this. She’s just full of joy. And it’s such a great thing to see. She’s always happy, but this is another level.”
Amy has been experiencing lots of changes in her life since becoming a mom, including with her body. It’s normal for a woman’s body to look different after giving birth and she’s embracing that. In July, she shared a beach photo with her husband and one fan praised her for it. “So beautiful,” the person commented. “A normal woman’s body. You look great!” The “I Feel Pretty” actress responded in the best way. “I am loving my warm, soft post-baby body. Grateful to be feeling so strong again!” We stan a self-loving queen.
Most recently, Amy bonded with Amber Rose over their appearances. It all started when Amy shared a photo of a tugboat before Halloween and captioned it, “I look alright in my costume? #babyweight.” Amber chimed in to reassure the comedian she’s not alone. “Awww, it’s natural, sis! I still look like I’m six months pregnant,” the model, who welcomed a baby boy in October, commented. Regardless, we think they both look great!
