Ingrid Michaelson Shuts Down Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Marriage Rumors: ‘I Was Wrong’
Sorry, Zigi fans! Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid aren’t married … even if Ingrid Michaelson said so. “OK, so, I talked about my new song, ‘To Begin Again,’ featuring Zayn on my Patreon live stream, and I might have said he was married. I was wrong. He’s not married. So, all you Zayn fans, I’m so sorry I have brought you on this roller-coaster of emotions,” the New York native clarified in an Instagram Story on Tuesday, March 30. “I was mistaken. He’s not married. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Marriage speculation about Gigi, 25, and Zayn, 28, who share daughter Khai, began to circulate immediately after Ingrid’s Patreon. The “Girls Chase Boys” singer, 41, said that the former One Direction member is “such a private person,” adding “and now he’s married and has a child so, he does the things he wants to do.” As it stands, Gigi and Zayn have yet to comment on Ingrid’s misstep.
Since giving birth to Khai in September 2020, the supermodel and “Better” artist have been on cloud 9. “Our baby girl is here, healthy [and] beautiful,” Zayn captioned a black-and-white photo of the pair’s newborn on September 23. “To try put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine [and] thankful for the life we will have together.”
Of course, Gigi shared her own heartwarming message. “Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend, and she’s already changed our world. So in love,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum gushed the following day.
Prior to Khai’s arrival, Zayn and Gigi, who have been dating off-and-on since November 2015, kept a low profile and enjoyed their time together nesting. The U.K. native treated the former Bravo personality “like a princess” during her pregnancy, a source previously told Life & Style. “Finding out that he’s going to be a dad has put a smile back on Zayn’s face. He has a more positive outlook on life and really pulled himself together.”
