She’s taking her feelings to the studio. On Dec. 5, Ariana Grande’s “Woman of the Year” interview with Billboard dropped and with it, came a number of intimate details about the singer’s highly anticipated new album. Most notably, the possibility of a track dedicated to her late ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller.

Titled Thank U, Next (a la her latest hit single), Ari explained that her new record will be an expression of the many tragedies she’s faced in recent years. “This [album is] not particularly uplifting,” the brunette beauty told the outlet. “A lot of it sounds really upbeat, but it’s actually a super sad chapter.”

The journalist who interviewed Ariana, Natalie Weiner, went on to explain: “Just before this interview, she was working on a new song, which, when she plays it for me later, I realize is about Miller.” Though, Ariana herself has yet to confirm that.

Of course, this would hardly be the first of Ariana’s tributes to her longtime love. Since the “Self-Care” rapper tragically passed away from an apparent drug overdose on Sept. 7, Ariana has taken to social media to honor not only their special relationship but also his legacy.

Most recently, a fan spotted a tattoo on Ariana’s foot reading “Myron” during a behind-the-scenes video of her “thank u, next” music videoFor those of you who don’t know, Myron was Mac’s dog. While we can’t be certain, it looks as though Ari has been taking care of the pup since the 26-year-old’s death.

While Ari’s many kind words on Instagram and Twitter have brought solace to her fans who also loved Mac Miller, it’s clear that an entire record dedicated to him is the catharsis that people are looking for. We look forward to listening to it.
