Enough is enough. Ariana Grande is asking fans to leave Pete Davidson alone. After months of being considered public enemy number one since their break up, Pete posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about what he’s been going through. Up until now, the two haven’t really publicly acknowledged each other, but Ari decided to step in for this one.

“I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference,” Pete said in his post. He continued, “I’ve been getting online bullied and in public by people for 9 months. I’ve spoken about BPD and being suicidal publicly only in the hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don’t want to be on this earth.” He also made the point that he’s kept his “mouth shut,” and hasn’t “said a word about anyone or anything” (aka Ari) amid their very publicized split.

Cue Ariana. The singer posted Pete’s message on her Instagram story with a snippet of her own. “I know u already know this but I feel I need to remind my fans to please be gentler with others. I really don’t endorse anything but forgiveness and positivity,” she explained to fans.

She continued on to say some really sweet things about her ex. “I care deeply about Pete and his health. I’m asking you to please be gentler with others, even on the internet. I’ve learned thru my own mistakes not to be reactive on social so I do understand. But, you truly don’t know what anybody is experiencing ever. Regardless of what they choose to display on social media or how they may appear in public. I can promise you that. So please let whatever point you’re trying to make go. I will always have irrevocable love for him and if you’ve gotten any other impression from my recent work, you might have missed the point.”

Obviously, Ariana is referring to her music video for “thank u, next” where Pete is featured on a page of the “burn book” while Ari is dressed like Regina George during the Mean Girls spoof. “sry I dipped [SIC]” and “i love u always [SIC]” were written on Pete’s designated page. So, yeah, she pretty much admitted she ended things and still has love for him. It doesn’t sound like either of them are too salty about the way things ended.

Hopefully, Ari’s message has cleared the air between these exes.
