There’s a Weird Reason Bachelor Peter Weber Didn’t Offer His Coat to His Freezing Contestant
Viewers watched in shock and horror as our sweet Bachelor star Peter Weber allowed Madison Prewett to freeze outside during the rose ceremony ahead of fantasy suite dates. It turns out, there’s a very weird reason it appeared he didn’t give his coat to the contestant, who confirmed on camera that it was “frickin’ cold” outside of the airplane hangar.
“The Bachelor nearly always offers his jacket to every shivering woman sitting in front of him,” a show producer explained during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “But [we] tell him not to because it looks so damn silly.” Instead of “a small woman draped in an enormous blazer,” there are pashmina scarves available on set for the women to snuggle up in if they want, the producer added.
Fans were shook during the February 24 episode after the pilot, 28, sat through a lengthy conversation with the Alabama native, 23, while she sat in a backless sparkly jumpsuit. “Really mad Peter didn’t give Madison his jacket yet!!!!! She’s cold!!!!” one tweet read. “Red flag No. 1: Peter not taking his jacket off and giving it to Madison when she said it was freaking cold outside,” someone else wrote. “The episode started with Madison saying, ‘It’s cold out here,’ and Peter didn’t put his jacket on her. Unworthy from start to finish,” another user echoed.
What truly gave us ~chills~ while watching the episode was Madi and Peter’s conversation about sex. The Bachelor Nation babe told the leading man that she would be uncomfortable if he slept with any of the other contestants during overnight dates. Peter didn’t seem quite clear on the expectations, but Madi ended their talk by saying “actions speak louder than words.”
She later revealed during the dinner portion of their overnight date that she is a virgin and saving herself for marriage. “Growing up, I made a commitment to myself, and I decided that I wanted to save myself for marriage,” Madison explained to Peter. “For me, I see it as the day that I say ‘I do’ to the person I want to spend the rest of my life with is the day that he is getting all of me — body, soul and spirit. I am his. I look at relationships and not both people are going to make the same life decisions, and I don’t expect that for you or anybody.”
The California stud then confessed that he had been “intimate” with someone else. She got up from the table and cried outside while Peter begged her not to leave.
Time will tell what unfolds between the two, but fans now know the truth about all the chilly contestants through the years.
