Carrie Underwood and Husband Mike Fisher Make Rare Public Appearance on 1st Red Carpet in 2 Years
Mike Fisher rarely accompanies his wife, Carrie Underwood, on the red carpet at star-studded events. However, he made an exception for the milestone Opry 100: A Live Celebration in Nashville, Tennessee, marking the couple’s first red carpet appearance in two years.
The duo made their date night one to remember as the American Idol winner-turned-host, 42, donned a strapless black mini dress, while sheer fabric fell on top, wrapping around one shoulder and exposing a leg with a thigh-high slit as gold embellishments lit up the outfit on Wednesday, March 19.
Mike, 44, complemented his wife by wearing a classic black suit and tie with a white shirt.
During the celebration inside the Grand Ole Opry, Carrie performed “Three Wooden Crosses” and “Forever and Ever Amen” during a tribute to Randy Travis.
As for Carrie’s date night with Mike, it was just as big of a deal as her performance since the last time he walked the red carpet with her was at the 56th annual CMA Awards in November 2022.

Carrie was a superstar when she married the former NHL player in 2010, and her success has continued to skyrocket since then. That said, whispers have surrounded the pair’s relationship and fans have questioned why Mike is often MIA from Carrie’s big events and shows.
The “Cowboy Casanova” star landed a Reflection residency in Las Vegas in 2021, and it has been such a hit that the show has been extended multiple times. Although Carrie’s success is much deserved and has raked in millions of dollars, Mike wasn’t thrilled that she continued to work away from home and their kids, sons Isaiah Michael Fisher, 10, and Jacob Bryan Fisher, 7, sources previously told Life & Style.
“Mike is not happy Carrie extended her residency,” an insider exclusively told Life & Style in November 2023. “He’s very traditional, and while he loves that Carrie has a career, he believes her role as a wife and mother should be a priority. Mike just wants Carrie to come home.”
A second insider gave Life & Style a deeper look into Mike’s feelings on the matter in May 2024 and revealed that Mike wanted to have a third child with Carrie. However, she was hesitant after experiencing three heartbreaking miscarriages.
“She wants to focus on what they have instead of what could be,” insider No. 2 said at the time. “She doesn’t want to put all her energy and time into making it happen. She just wants to appreciate what they have. There’s so much to be thankful for.”
Despite concerns over Mike and Carrie’s marriage, she has maintained their relationship is strong enough to withstand some time apart.
“Kids need structure so for the most part they’ll stay at home while Carrie’s traveling,” a third source said of the “Before He Cheats” singer’s jam-packed work schedule prior to her American Idol gig and extended Las Vegas residency. “Long distance is always a challenge, but Carrie says their faith in marriage and in God is stronger than anything,” added the source. “She wishes people would stop worrying.”
