‘DC Cupcakes’ Star Katherine Kallinis Berman Talks About Daughter Isis’ First Thanksgiving

Georgetown Cupcakes, the hugely popular shop that's featured on TLC's DC Cupcakes, may have been closed on Thanksgiving, but sister owners Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne weren't taking the day completely off. The sisters revealed to Life & Style that they'd still be making cupcakes in between spending time with their own families.

For Katherine, whose daughter Isis just turned nine months old, it's also an especially sweet Baby's First Thanksgiving.

"She’s been eating solid foods for the past month, so I’m really excited to give her her first bite of turkey," the mom reveals. "I think it’s going to be really exciting for us. We typically just feed her some carrots, sometimes macaroni and cheese and things like that, but this is going to be her first taste of Thanksgiving dinner. So I’m excited to spend it with her and for her to be at the table and eating all the great food."

And Katherine's clearly mad about motherhood. She can't stop gushing about her little girl, whose dad is hubby Ben Berman. "She’s such an angel and it’s been such a blessing from God," says Katherine, whose own mom also works at the cupcake shop.

"It’s definitely been challenging as well, working full time and being a mom, but I’m lucky that I have my mother here with me every day so she can watch Isis while I’m in the bakery working, and Isis can watch me work in the bakery too which I feel very fortunate for that. But it definitely teaches you to use every minute of your time."

But would the busy business owner consider another child? "I couldn’t imagine my life without having a sister," she smiles about her close relationship with Sophie. "I would love to have another girl so Isis could have a sister and have the same relationship that I do with Sophie. I think that would be so cool to live through that experience of growing up together. I don’t think we’re going to wait too long to have another one."
