Sadly, Kaitlyn was very impacted by the comments. “You know what. I’m gonna be real,” she began a lengthy caption on a photo of herself crying on her Instagram Story. “I didn’t laugh this one off. I cried on the floor. I’ve had body image issues in my life. Being called pregnant after a big meal triggers my feelings.”

Her emotional post continued, “It’s usually, ‘eat a cheeseburger’ or ‘ewww too skinny.’ Both hurt. Just because a woman’s stomach isn’t flat doesn’t mean we call her pregnant. Just because a woman [is] skinny doesn’t mean we call her sick.”

Kaitlyn is no stranger to dealing with negativity. Back in May, she got in some hot water with Bachelor Nation after saying Hannah Brown was the “least-deserving” Bachelorette star during an appearance on E!’s LadyGang.

During her appearance on the show, the ladies played a game where Kaitlyn had to answer a question or take a shot. “I wish I would’ve just taken the shot, but instead, I tried to find a loophole. … What I said was, ‘Me. I was.’ And I said all the ladies deserve it,” she explained in a video on her Instagram after receiving backlash.

Celebrities these days receive backlash for just about everything they do, but Kaitlyn couldn’t let this one go. She explained, “As everyone knows, I too am very far from perfect. But this misunderstanding I have to address. … I should know by now that editing of a show can cause hate towards me. And I’ve been receiving a lot of that.”

The starlet prides herself on being an advocate for women so this situation was not jiving with her. “Sometimes I can brush things off, and I will always admit if I deserve it. But when I’m being accused of bashing other women, I need to explain.”

She tends to wear her heart on her sleeve so this was another situation that really got to her. “I had an absolute meltdown today due to negative comments, and headlines. I just want people to hear this from me. Media will run with stories but this just simply isn’t true.”

After she posted the video, Jason commented, “Proud of you.” Her other franchise friends also rallied to support her. “Anyone that knows you, knows your heart … We all know you’re one of the greatest humans,” Bachelor in Paradise alum Raven Gates wrote. Former Bachelorette star Ali Fedotowsky added, “I personally heard you talk about how great you think she’ll be!!!”

Jason later shared a video of himself on Today where he said, “Especially on Instagram, everyone has an opinion and it’s damned if you do, damned if you don’t, good, bad and ugly … Ignore the noise, stay focused on your relationship because everyone has something to say.” He added the caption, “… and that’s all I have to say about that #thebachelorette.”

During her appearance on LadyGang, host Keltie Knight asked Jason via Facetime if Kaitlyn was “the one.” His answer made everyone swoon. “That’s a very easy answer for me,” he divulged. “I have never in my life been as [happy] as I am with Kaitlyn and there’s no looking back right now.”
