Jed Wyatt’s Ex Feels Sorry for Hannah B. After Revealing His Betrayal: ‘I’m Sure She’s Heartbroken’
After watching Bachelorette star Hannah Brown pour her heart out on television, Jed Wyatt‘s ex-girlfriend Haley Stevens feels sorry for the reality starlet. The ex recently claimed that she and the contestant were still dating when he left to meet the Alabama beauty and he only went to promote his music. Haley exclusively divulged to Life & Style that she regrets the unfortunate outcome of the situation. Caution: Spoilers for Hannah’s season are below!
“We talked about it like it was a movie like these are characters. Because I didn’t even know who it was going to be it didn’t even seem real,” Haley explained about her and Jed’s supposed arrangement before he left. “Now, in hindsight, I’ve seen clips and Hannah is so genuine and sincere. If I could have seen this person that I’m seeing now and how much of her heart she is putting into this show — and into these guys and the process — it could have been a different ball game.”
“Now, I feel so much guilt for letting him go,” she added about the aftermath weighing heavily on her. Haley hopes to offer her support to the Tuscaloosa native. “If I could say anything to Hannah it would be to hang in there … I never meant to cause anyone any hurt.” She noted, “It is what it is and it pretty much sucks for everyone involved. I hope that she is true to herself. She talked the whole time about knowing her worth and, man, she is a strong woman. I hope that she will keep trusting in that.”
Hannah’s season ends (spoiler alert!) with Jed getting down on one knee. “I don’t blame him for falling in love with Hannah. I hope it is real,” Haley confessed about their relationship. “My heart isn’t the only one involved here. This affects Hannah. It doesn’t feel good to feel like I’m running his name through the mud because I fell in love with him.”
Upon hearing about the reality couple’s engagement, Haley was crushed. “I’m sure Hannah is heartbroken after seeing this. I don’t know if she knew, if she didn’t, if she was blindsided, I can’t even begin to know,” she admitted. “Just like hearing yesterday that they are engaged was unbelievably painful for me.”
The Nashville native assured that airing Jed’s dirty laundry has been tough. “If they are together and they have feelings for each other and she has feelings for him — this was painful for her. That is not a good feeling for me. I don’t like feeling like I hurt someone with this,” she said. “It’s tough and messy and not a great situation all the way around. I could have never anticipated any of it but here we are.”
Yikes. Time will tell what this means for Hannah and Jed.
