This could seriously damage his standing as a fan favorite! Hannah Brown seems to be falling head over heels for crooner Jed Wyatt on Bachelorette, but new claims from an alleged ex-girlfriend could leave the 25-year-old looking more like a villain than Prince Charming. Fellow Nashville singer Haley Stevens says that she was very much dating Jed when he went on the show, and was promised that they would still be together afterward, too!

“We spent the night together the night before he headed to L.A.,” Haley told People of the four-month relationship. “He told me [the show] was just an obstacle and we’d be stronger on the other side because of it.” From the beginning, Haley said Jed was clear about his intentions for applying for the show. “He said, ‘It’s probably not going to happen, but it’s a huge opportunity. I’m only doing this for my music.’ He only did it for his career. He kept telling me, ‘I don’t want my dad to have to help me pay rent anymore.’”

Jed has been honest with Hannah about his original reasoning for joining the show, and his refreshing candor definitely helped woo the Alabama native. “I was open to the idea because I love love. I do, I love the idea of it,” he said during their one-on-one date early on in the season. “But my first thought was this is like a huge platform, and I just want you to know the truth. So I came in with that mindset, but every moment that we’ve had has taken that away and shown me that now more than anything I want to be with you.” Unfortunately, it sounds like he left out the very important detail that there was apparently a woman waiting for him at home.

“He was always so reassuring. He told me, it’s not real. It’s acting,” said Haley of Jed’s promises before leaving. He even allegedly took her on vacation to the Bahamas after learning he was officially cast on the dating show to prove his devotion. That’s where they reportedly said “I love you” for the first time. Even after leaving for the show, they stayed in contact. “He called me when he landed in L.A.,” Haley said. “He said, ‘I love you, and I’ll call you when I get back.’”

However, Jed never called. “I was following along on spoiler accounts, trying to figure out when my boyfriend was going to come home,” she said. “I was terrified that he would fall in love with Hannah … I thought, my boyfriend could be engaged to someone else. Seeing him kissing her for the first time was the worst day.” On top of that, Jed didn’t reach out when he got back. Then Haley ran into him at a music venue and confronted him.

“He said, ‘Hey how have you been?’ and I said, ‘How do you think I’ve been?’” she remembered. “I asked him, ‘You didn’t think I deserved a phone call?’ And he said, ‘I didn’t know what to say.’” That was apparently the last contact they’ve had.

Though Jed has not responded to a request for comment, he clearly had at least some connection to Haley. On a post of hers from January 8, he commented, “You’re gonna melt the snow lookin that hot.” And when she posted a bikini photo on February 20, he wrote, “smoke.” If you’re curious how far Jed makes it with Hannah, you can check out the spoilers, here.
