Mom life is hard — just ask Jessica Simpson. The singer opened up about how tough it’s been over the past week while her kids have been extremely sick. She shares three children with husband Eric Johnson — daughter Maxwell, 7, son Ace, 6, and newborn daughter Birdie, 7 months. The mom got very candid about the ups and downs in her household in a November 14 Instagram post.

“It was a challenging 10 days for the family. Lots of puke, scary high fevers, coughing and a concussion to top it all off,” the 39-year-old captioned a photo of herself and oldest daughter snoozing on the couch. “Maxi and Ace are resilient troopers. Now we need some sleep … Eric and I are so relieved they are happy and healthy now.” Luckily, it sounds like Birdie avoided getting ill.

Many fans related to Jessica’s post and rallied to support her. “Oh, I hated when my daughter was sick like that. Ughhh,” one person commented. “Sending healing vibes to all,” someone else echoed. “Puke bugs are the WORST with littles. Hope they feel better soon,” another seasoned parent added. “Rest up. Parenting is rough and scary sometimes. You both made it through,” a separate user encouraged. “Hugs all around for everyone getting heathy fast and mom and dad getting some well-deserved shut-eye!”

Besides having three kids to attend to, the pop star has also been hitting the gym very frequently. She amazingly lost 100 pounds in just six months after giving birth to her youngest. A source exclusively dished to Life & Style that the blonde beauty worked so hard in order to simply feel good in her own skin.

“Jessica was very insecure with her pregnancy weight gain. Having Birdie was unexpected and the pregnancy was hard, but she has been enjoying her family so much,” the source explained. “It took her a long time to ‘get her body back’ after having Ace and this time around, she couldn’t wait to feel like her old self again.”

How did she drastically drop so much weight? Balance. “Jessica’s secret is simple: consistent workouts and portion control,” the insider added about fashion designer’s fitness routine. “Working out is really key for Jess because she wants to be able to eat and enjoy life with her kids. She loves going out for date nights with Eric and having cocktails, so she doesn’t like to deprive herself of that. It’s just about keeping it in moderation.”
