John Cena and GF Shay Shariatzadeh Hold Hands in Beverly Hills

Living his best life! John Cena was spotted holding hands with his girlfriend, Shay Shariatzadeh, in Beverly Hills on January 14 — nearly two weeks after his ex Nikki Bella announced her engagement to fiancé Artem Chigvintsev. By the looks of it, it seems like the 42-year-old actor is unbothered by the news and happy with his lady.

John and Shay, who have been an item since March, seem to be going strong. On January 11, the couple made their second red carpet debut for the premiere of Dolittle, and they couldn’t be more into each other. Onlookers seemed to agree. “John and Shay arrived hand in hand to [the] carpet and walked into carpet holding hands,” a source exclusively told Life & Style. “He whispered a few things in her ear to reassure her on [the] carpet, a few gentle kisses on lips. Very sweet. She seemed totally comfortable and happy to be by his side.”

Fortunately, both John and Nikki have moved on. The former flames called off their engagement in April 2018, reconciled shortly after and officially broke things off in July 2018 after six years together. The following year they began dating their current partners.

Though the Total Bellas star waited until January 3 to reveal she’s engaged, it turns out, Artem actually popped the question in late 2019, after less than a year of dating. “Excited for 2020 and the next decade with you @theartemc,” the 36-year-old wrote on Instagram. “I said yes in France in November! We have been trying to keep it a secret but really wanted to share our excitement for the New Year!”

The following day, John tweeted an emotional cryptic message. “How many people have you totally let into your life?” the pro wrestler wrote on January 4. “For many out there the number is 0. We have all been betrayed, it hurts, but if you’re brave enough to continue to try and let people in, when someone does connect with you. They will know and love you for who you really are.” Hmm, we wonder exactly who he was referring to!
