Leni Klum Reacts to Criticism on Lingerie Campaign With Mom Heidi Klum: ‘No Control Over It’

Unbothered! Heidi Klum’s daughter Leni Klum isn’t letting the negative comments about her Intimissimi lingerie campaign with her mom get under her skin.

“I always try to remember that no matter what you do, there will always be someone who doesn’t like it. You simply have no control over it and you can’t focus too much on the negative,” Leni, 20, said during an interview with Glamour Germany published on Tuesday, March 11.

She continued, “That can easily happen, especially if you spend a lot of time on social media. But there are so many more positive reactions. Oh, and: Most of the comments are in German, and I don’t really understand many of them. That helps too, of course.”

Lingerie campaigns with her mom, 51, are nothing new for the model. Leni and Heidi have been brand ambassadors for Intimissimi, a line of Italian lingerie, since 2022.

“If you are looking for women’s underwear that highlights your figure and enhances your femininity, you are in the right place,” the website reads. “At Intimissimi you will find everything you are looking for, including women’s underwear and underwear sets, items for relaxing moments and much more.”

“Our new @Intimissimiofficial campaign is OUT NOW! Look at the new collection online and in all Intimissimi stores!” Leni wrote alongside a carousel of photos she shared via Instagram from the October 2024 campaign. “Excited to show you more of this perfect collection … Keep an eye out!”

In the images, Leni wore a sheer black bra and underwear that was accented with a floral design and delicate lace trim. Heidi donned a similar sheer look, except hers was maroon instead of black.

However, many people found it strange for the mother-daughter duo to pose for the brand together.

“If I didn’t know that the two were mother and daughter, I would have to think that it was the beginning of a lesbian p-rn,” one Instagram user wrote in the comments section.

Another person added, “Why is her mother fiddling with her panties as if the mother wanted to seduce her daughter? Why would you do a commercial like that with your mother? That’s killing me.”

Not everyone was critical of the photos, though.

“I celebrate this so much. What’s better than making money with friends or family … asked my dad for a thousand he would even shoot this commercial with me with a thong,” a separate commenter chimed in. “And to all who write rubbish here… Why are you paying attention then?”

Along with criticism for the lingerie ads with Heidi, Leni has also faced comments about her status as a “nepo baby.” (She was adopted by famous singer Seal, Heidi’s ex-husband, in 2009.)

“It’s just a fact. My parents are famous,” Leni told People during an October 2022 interview. “I did get help starting off, and I know that people would dream to start off with what I had. I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to take what was gifted to me by my mom. But I am doing the work and putting in the time. Now I’m working on my own, traveling alone, going to school. My mom and I just have the same love for the same thing.”
