She's officially the Duchess of Sussex! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot on May 18 at St George's Chapel in Windsor — and the whole world is still buzzing about the beautiful nuptials. Yet despite already walking down the aisle, people are still wondering: Who were the bridesmaids at the royal wedding? As it turns out, the self-procaimed "feminist" made her way to her future hubby with a gaggle of cute kiddos — including Prince George and Princess Charlotte!
The couple upheld royal tradition and filled their bridal party with tiny tots. In addition to Prince William and Kate Middleton's children, three-year-old Miss Florence van Cutsem, who is Prince Harry's goddaughter and the daughter of Mrs. Alice van Cutsem and Major Nicholas van Cutsem, was in attendance. The other bridesmaids included Harry's other goddaughter, two-year-old Miss Zalie Warren, who's the daughter of Mrs. Zoe Warren and Mr. Jake Warren, and Meghan's goddaughter, Miss Remi Litt, 6. She's the daughter of Mrs. Benita Litt and Mr. Darren Litt. Remi's older sister, Miss Rylan Litt, 7, was there too. Meghan's BFF Jessica Mulroney wasn't in the wedding, but her daughter, four-year-old Ivy Mulroney, was!
As for the boys? Prince Harry's godson, six-year-old Master Jasper Dyer, who is the son of Mrs. Amanda Dyer and Mr. Mark Dyer M.V.O., was there, and Jess's seven-year-old twin sons, Master Brian Mulroney and Master John Mulroney rounded out the party.
Since Meghan and Prince Harry announced their engagement, fans of the couple started speculating who would be the lucky bridesmaids — especially since the 36-year-old bride doesn't have a relationship with her half-sister, Samantha. Scroll below to see who was initially in the running to play a part in the highly-anticipated ceremony.
Lindsay and Meghan are total BFFs, and she was initially thought to be the No. 1 choice as maid of honor. Meghan actually held the title at Lindsay's wedding over a year ago, so it would have made sense! The two met 15 years ago in college, and Lindsay recently opened up to People magazine about her bestie's high-profile relationship.
"I don't know many people who are as generous and supportive as Meg is," Lindsay gushed. "I think people assume that when someone gains notoriety that they change. But she's still the same girl I met years ago, with the same values and priorities. She's selfless, and that's just a part of who she is and who she was raised to be."
Jessica is a stylist-turned-best friend of Meghan's. After the actress was moved to Canada for the filming of Suits, she became good pals with Jessica, and the two appear on each other's social media accounts all the time!
Janina is an actress, just like bride Meghan, and these two have been friends for over a decade! Meghan actually took to her Instagram in October 2016 to share some love for her close pal. "Oh how I love seeing my long-time friend Janina," she wrote. "Couldn't be prouder of how far we've come, and couldn't be more grateful for being able to share every step of it with you."
Priyanka and Meghan met at a Toronto-based party two years ago, and have been friends ever since! They show up on each other's social media accounts from time to time and clearly share a special bond.
As Life & Style previously revealed, Priyanka was actually in the running to be maid of honor!
Heather was likely behind Meghan getting into tip-top shape for her nuptials. The fitness guru went from working for Meghan to being one of her closest friends, so we think she would be a great addition to the bridal party!
Now all we're waiting for is a pregnancy announcement. Congrats to the happy couple!
