Sometimes it’s good to have a mini getaway, and it looks like Meghan Markle agrees. The duchess, 37, took a trip to New York City during her final trimester, according to Us Weekly.

On Saturday, February 16, she was spotted having a blast with a friend. The former actress and her friend were first seen grabbing a bite at the Ladurée restaurant and bakery in the SoHo neighborhood. “They were having a lovely time, laughing and talking with each other,” an insider revealed to the outlet.

The source also mentioned that Meghan was seen shopping at Bonpoint — a French high-end kids’ store. The mom-to-be is due sometime in late April or early May, so it’s not entirely surprising she’s shopping for her baby.

However, what is surprising in fact, is her unannounced visit to the United States. As of late, the Suits alum hasn’t been traveling much. The last time she traveled far was during the royal tour in October 2018 when she and Prince Harry visited Australia, New Zealand, the Kingdom of Tonga and Fiji. It was during her first day of tour when she first announced she was pregnant.

It looks like Meghan is feeling good as ever because she and Harry are scheduled to make another royal visit, but this time it’s to Morocco, and it’s only for two days. The last royal appearance the couple made was in London for a gala performance of The Wider Earth at the Natural History Museum. Meghan was all smiles as she walked beside her hubby.

Recently, George Clooney spoke out about the duchess, defending her and all the drama she’s had to deal with. “I do want to say, they’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified,” the actor, 57, told Who magazine. “She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and its history repeating itself.” However, by the looks of it, she’s unbothered. You go, girl!
