What a throwback! Miley Cyrus posted a video of herself jamming out to Lindsay Lohan’s hit “Rumors,” and now we’re feeling pretty nostalgic.

On January 29, the “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer, 26, shared the clip on Twitter and tagged the Mean Girls actress, 32, in the post. Miley sang the catchy chorus, which in case you forgot was Lindsay’s personal anthem back when she was just 18 years old.

“I’m tired of rumors starting/ I’m sick of being followed/ I’m tired of people lying/ Saying what they want about me/ Why can’t they back up off me?/ Why can’t they let me live?” sang Miley as she rode in a car. The Freaky Friday alum retweeted the video and replied to Miley sharing words of kindness. “Love you so much!!!! Beautiful girl!” she wrote.

Lindsay dropped the iconic bop at a point in her life when she couldn’t relate to it more. Despite social media not being a big influence 15 years ago, she was constantly in the public eye, causing her to rebel. Miley is no stranger to that.

The two stars actually have plenty in common, so we’re not surprised they’re fans of each other. They both started in showbiz pretty young and have worked with Disney. Eventually, the pair of stars gained lots of success from their respective acting and music careers. In 2013, Miley dropped “We Can’t Stop,” which is her version of “Rumors.” At the time, The Last Song actress had changed her image entirely, gaining lots of criticism from outsiders.

However, things are different for Miley now. She’s focusing on finding her own style in the music she makes and is now happily married. She tied the knot with longtime beau Liam Hemsworth in December 2018.

By the looks of it, those two are head over heels in love. While accepting an award at the G’Day USA Gala in Culver City, Liam gave his wife a sweet shout out and Miley couldn’t help but gush and smile. We’re here for it!
