When Prince Harry became engaged to his now wife, Meghan Markle, back in November 2017, all eyes were on the former actress’ beyond gorgeous engagement ring, especially since it included diamonds from Princess Diana‘s personal collection. But Meghan isn’t the only royal to wear jewelry honoring Diana on a daily basis.

Eagle-eyed royal fans have recently noticed that Harry has been regularly sporting a special silver bracelet with dark engravings for nearly two decades. And, according to the UK’s Good Housekeeping, the bracelet is a way for the 33-year-old Prince to remember his late mom, who sadly passed away in a car crash in August 1997.

Harry was reportedly first spotted wearing the bracelet at a polo match back in 2001, however, it’s thought that the Duke of Sussex actually bought the piece years earlier during a family trip to his beloved Africa.

“I first came [to Africa] in 1997, straight after my mum died. My dad told my brother and me to pack our bags — we were going to Africa to get away from it all,” Harry revealed to Town and Country magazine in a previous interview. Harry’s older brother, Prince William, also reportedly got a bracelet during the trip to help honor Diana.

Though Harry has been photographed wearing the sentimental bracelet many times over the years, he was most recently spotted with the armpiece while traveling to his wedding reception with wife Meghan in mid-May. When Harry — looking dapper in a black and white tux — waved to onlookers while leaving Windsor Castle in a chic Jaguar E-Type convertible, royal fans noticed he was wearing the special silver bracelet on his big day. So sweet!
