Shade much? In Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, a new BBC documentary, the royals got real and spilled some hot tea. Prince William opened up about his family and confessed he’d like his dad, Prince Charles, to be more present in his children’s lives.

“I would like him to have more time with the children. Having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to you know play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible,” said the Duke of Cambridge about his father.

That was probably the most polite way of calling someone out. However, it’s totally understandable. Prince William and Prince Harry weren’t as close to their father as they are now, so it’s natural for William to want to better the bond between his dad and the new generation of royal kids.

The Prince of Wales is just days away from turning 70 (Nov. 14), and both William and Harry think their father should slow it down a bit. Harry specifically shared that his dad is a workaholic. “He does need to slow down. This is a man who has dinner ridiculously late at night, and then goes to his desk later that night and will fall asleep on his notes to the point where he’ll wake up with a piece of paper stuck to his face. The man never stops. When we were kids, there were bags and bags and bags of work that the office just sent to him. We could barely even get to his desk to say goodnight to him.”

Is it too late for Prince Charles to become a more active family man? Definitely not! It’s been reported that the future King has become close to daughter-in-law Meghan Markle over the last few months after Harry asked him if he could walk her down the aisle. So who’s to say he can’t become closer to his grandchildren after William expressed how he felt. There’s still hope!
