Shortly after YouTuber Roman Atwood announced the tragic death of his mother, Susan, the 36-year-old fell silent on the internet. However, on Sunday, June 16, Roman broke that silence to share a thoughtful message for his dad, Curtis, on Father’s Day.

A very hard month with the strongest man I know. Happy Father’s Day. Thank you all for the overwhelming love,” Roman, who has three children of his own, captioned the photo on Twitter.

Unsurprisingly, thousands of Roman’s friends and followers flocked to his page to show him and his family support. “We love you, dude. Sending you and the family so much love,” one user commented. “Stay strong! We’re thinking about you all,” added another. While we appreciate Roman’s return to social media to honor his father, we suspect that he won’t be back for good for quite some time. After all, he suffered an incredible loss.

“This hurts so much,” Roman wrote on Twitter at the time of his mom’s passing. “As most of you know, my family and I are on vacation together. Yesterday, my mom was riding around with my nephew on some little scooters. She fell off hers and hit her head.” Roman explained on May 30.

“She immediately lost all vitals. No heart rate and her breathing stopped,” he continued. “She was rushed to the hospital where we spent the next eight hours … my beautiful mother passed away shortly after. I need everyone to understand that I will be gone for a bit,” Roman told fans.

“I will be by my family’s side, especially my father’s. We are rushing back home to Ohio to figure everything out. Please pray for my family and especially for my father. I’ve never been in more shock in my life. I’m numb and in complete disbelief. My heart is so heavy. We are all broken over here. Mom was everything to us,” Roman concluded the deeply emotional story.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to him and his entire family.
