Planning a baby shower is never a walk in the park, especially when it’s for a royal. Serena Williams revealed that putting together her bestie Meghan Markle’s baby shower was a challenge.

“Planning something like that takes a lot of effort,” the Tennis legend, 37, told The Business of Fashion about the bash held in February. “I’m a perfectionist, so I’m like, ‘Let’s make it perfect.'”

“It’s been a lot the last few days,” added Serena, who was interviewed shortly after the baby shower.

Serena gave birth to her first child, Olympia Ohanian, in September 2017 and since then, she’s been very outspoken about parenting. She offered parenting tips when referring to a pregnant friend, which many assume is Meghan. “Accept mistakes and don’t expect to be perfect,” she said in the same interview. “We put so much pressure on ourselves. My friend is pregnant, and she was like, ‘My kid’s gonna do this,’ [and] I just looked at her, like, ‘No, she’s not.’ I’m like, ‘No, you’re not.’ And she started laughing. … She was like, ‘I need to talk to you about tips.'”

It won’t be long until the duchess, 37, learns of all of these things firsthand as she’s expected to give birth any day now. For the last few days, the former actress has been laying low, further hinting the royal baby could be arriving soon. On Sunday, April 21, Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped out for Easter and for the queen’s 93rd birthday, however, the mom-to-be was nowhere to be seen.

Meghan is surrounded by good company as her hubby attends these royal engagements, though. Her mother, Doria Ragland, reportedly flew in from the states to be with her daughter during these unforgettable moments. Doria is probably Meghan’s closest relative, and she was also present at the royal wedding in May 2018, while Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, missed out.

Something tells us Meg has everything and everyone she needs to welcome her bundle of joy.
