Sofia Richie’s Career Seemingly Takes Off Amid Scott Disick Breakup as She Films a New Project
New projects on the horizon! Sofia Richie shared a behind-the-scenes photo on set while shooting something new on May 28, following her split from ex-boyfriend Scott Disick. It seems as though the 21-year-old’s acting career might be taking off like she’d hoped.
In the picture posted to her Instagram Stories, the up-and-coming performer showed off a ring light set up, seemingly, for filming something. The surrounding area looked pretty swanky as well, with a gorgeous couch and glass coffee table adorned with books and a floral display.
Life & Style confirmed Scott, 37, and Sofia split after nearly three years together on May 27. However, the blonde beauty thinks the breakup is actually “a good move for her and him,” an insider told Life & Style exclusively. “She’s concentrating on her career, she really wants to act.”
The model has spoken about her desire to be on the big screen before. “I feel like, for a while, I kind of held back on things because I was afraid of failure, but 2020 is [the year of] no fear! I’m gonna be doing acting stuff really soon,” she told Entertainment Tonight in February and noted she was “excited” for “big things” to come in her career. “The roles I’m reading for right now are kind of similar to me, so they’re easy for me to play, and I really, really enjoy it.”
The former flames started dating in September 2017, and though they’re both making moves to work on themselves amid the separation, there’s definitely no ill will toward one another. “Sofia loved Scott too, but she’s very mature for her age,” the source added. “Sofia had a blast with Scott and will forever hold their time together as special.”
Similarly, Scott “truly only wants the best” for his ex-love. “She’s a great girl,” a second source revealed to L&S.
The split came on the heels of Scott’s brief stint in a Colorado rehabilitation facility for emotional distress. The Talentless founder checked in on April 28 to deal with the sudden deaths of his parents. His mother, Bonnie Disick, died in 2013, and his father, Jeffrey Disick, passed three months later. However, he returned to Los Angeles mere days later after photos of himself at the treatment center surfaced on the internet.
