OMGSophie Turner Fully *Roasts* the Bottlecap Challenge and We Can’t Stop Laughing
Looks like someone’s got an opinion about all these Instagram challenges lately! Sophie Turner decided to share her thoughts on the latest one (the Bottlecap Challenge) on July 12 — and through her roast of the phenomena, she ironically made the best version yet.
“I look terrible but someone’s gotta do it,” the 23-year-old wrote on a video posted to her Instagram Stories where she essentially “geared up” with some mock-martial arts to knock the bottlecap off her wine bottle before leaning into the camera with a serious expression.
“Stop this. Now,” she told the viewer, referring to the challenge, before taking her mini airplane wine bottle, untwisting the cap with her hands (the complete opposite of the point of the challenge) and drinking it straight from the source. Classic Sophie.
If you’re a fan of the Game of Thrones actress, you’re probably used to this hilarious display of stonefaced wit from her, as it tends to be her signature brand of humor. It’s the kind of funny that makes us see exactly why the actress and her new husband, Joe Jonas, work so well together.
The couple tied the knot in a secret and silly ceremony in a Las Vegas chapel after the 2019 Billboard Music Awards back in May. We say secret, because we assume it was intended to be as such, until guest Diplo decided to livestream the sweet event on his Instagram.
The couple, who started dating in late 2016, exchanged ring pops as rings at the fun event and even took cute chapel photos. The vows were even pretty stereotypical, funny Vegas wedding: “I, Joseph, take you, Sophie, to be my wedded wife. With this ring, I thee wed. And I love you,” Joe repeated after Elvis, who officiated the ceremony.
Though the first wedding was probably more geared toward their personalities, the adorable duo did have a second wedding in France on June 29 — and that one was a bit more formal. But at the end of the day, it’s clear Joe loves Sophie, sarcasm and all.
