The 2019 Met Gala seemed perfect for Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn to make their red carpet debut as a couple. Did they attend the prestigious event together and make fans’ dreams come true? Unfortunately, not this year, friends.

The always allusive popstar, 29, hasn’t posted her whereabouts on social media since performing at the Billboard Music Awards on May 1. Taylor and Joe would have made an amazing addition to the iconic NYC soiree but it looks like they’re not quite ready to make their relationship public yet.

Taylor has been slowly creeping back into the music scene after releasing Reputation in 2017. The songbird dropped her new single “ME!” with Brendon Urie on April 26 and performed during the Time 100 gala and 2019 Billboard Music Awards.

Although she keeps details about her relationship with the hunky actor, 28, very under wraps, she’s not afraid to open up about her own personal struggles with being in the spotlight. “There have been times where I needed to take years off because I just felt exhausted, or I felt like, really low or really bad,” the Pennsylvania native confessed during an April 29 interview on the Zach Sang Show.

She wants her new jam with the Panic! at the Disco frontman to help put fans in a positive mindset. “I think when we talk about being happy or loving yourself those are all things that we feel sometimes and maybe this song is a glimpse of that moment when we do feel like that,” the pop star explained. “When we’re having the best day, the sun is shining, it’s going to be an okay day, everything’s going to be good, I’m alright with myself.”

Since having a tumultuous few years in her personal life, including a nasty feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Taylor has learned some life lessons that she wants to share with fans. “Happiness is always going to be a struggle and a challenge we have to try and meet. Self-worth is always going to be something that it’s a process of trying to get there. That’s not naturally how we’re going to feel all the time,” she divulged.

We’re glad to have you back, Tay!
