Um, Thomas Markle Reportedly Never Made It to Meghan’s First Wedding Either
Hold. Up. Meghan Markle‘s dad bailed on his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry, and now a new report reveals he skipped her first wedding, too. WTF. The 74-year-old claimed he couldn’t make it in May due to an alleged heart attack, but several Twitter users say he always has an issue with the husband. Really, Tom? A prince isn’t good enough for your daughter?!
According to the Daily Mail, Thomas Markle wasn’t at her 2011 wedding in Jamaica, when she tied the knot to Trevor Engelson. Her mother, Doria, however, was in attendance. Naturally, everyone is now giving him a hard time on Twitter.
“Thomas Markle is making a big fuss over his daughter not contacting him, yet there was no mention of him attending her first wedding,” one person wrote on the social media platform. “I guess he let her down at that one, too. This family thinks they’re doing the right thing but they’re only making matters worse.” Another agreed, writing, “I know Thomas Markle did not go to her first wedding either, but her mother did. He appears to have a problem with the husbands; it must be a control thing as the Alpha male.” A third chimed in, “He wasn’t at Meghan’s first wedding either so what’s his beef?!”

If you recall, this so-called “beef” has to do with Meghan not contacting her father, despite his pleas. In an interview with the Daily Mail on Sunday, Thomas opened about his staged paparazzi photos in what he said would be his last interview. “Harry told me that I should never go to the press,” he revealed. “That it would end in tears. He said, ‘They will eat you alive.’ He was right.”
Thomas added, however, that there are no hard feelings. “I’m not mad at Harry. I’m not mad at Meghan. I love them,” Thomas said. “I wish them well. But as for the rest of it, f–k it. I’m done.”
