“I knew right way — the first time I saw him,” the 38-year-old gushed to Vogue in 2009 about her hubby. “The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, ‘That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I’ve ever seen!’ We sat and talked for three hours. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn’t want to leave. You know that feeling of, like, you can’t get enough? From the first day we met, we’ve never spent one day without speaking to each other.”
The model admitted in her book that it “wasn’t an easy time.” She wrote, “Two months into our relationship, Tom told me that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant. The very next day, the news was everywhere and I felt my world had been turned upside down.”
“We planned it in like 10 days, and it was perfect,” the Patriots staple recalled to GQ the following November. “We went back to the house and I barbecued aged New York strips. We had champagne, a cake, some ice cream. It was a great night. So, maybe they wanted a bit more than their backyard bash? The newlyweds jetted off to Costa Rica to have a second wedding with more family members. “It’s nothing personal against anybody, but it’s not about them. It’s about what you and your wife need for that day,” the sports star added in his GQ interview.
“You’re overwhelmed and tired when you’re not the nicest partner,” she divulged in her memoir about their marriage struggling after their first child was born. “When someone you love is happy, it makes you happy. Or if they’re sad, it makes you sad. You suffer with them and you have joy with them.”
In February 2012, the mom of two defended her husband after the Patriots lost to the New York Giants during Super Bowl XLVI. “My husband cannot f—king throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times,” the Taxi star yelled after the game.
After accusations that the quarterback was the one who requested the deflated footballs during the AFC Championship Game in the 2014-2015 NFL playoffs (a.k.a deflategate), a source told Us Weekly that things were “tense” between the spouses.
In January 2019, there was a video of the fashion guru literally jumping up and down after the Patriots secured a spot in Super Bowl LIII. This will be her husband’s ninth trip to the big game and he hasn’t forgotten who helped get him there. “I first want to say hi to my wife, I love you so much,” he said during a post-game interview.
