Good luck finding a Mother's Day gift that will trump Ashton Kutcher's!
The actor recently surprised his mom, Diane, by redoing his childhood basement in Homestead, Iowa. "It's my way of saying thank you to my mom," the 37-year-old shared, adding the project was a "lifelong dream" of his.

"My mom has been like the greatest influence in my life, and anything I can do to say thank you is the right thing to do," Ashton said.
Using the home-remodeling app Houzz (which he's also invested in), the father of seven-month-old daughter Wyatt was able to oversee the renovations from Beverly Hills. All in all, the home improvement took just 27 days.
The team ended up knocking down walls, lifting up the drop ceiling and adding lots of natural light by putting in windows.

Diane, who was helping out with the baby during that time, was blown away by the gift. Ashton even placed bunk beds in one of the bedrooms so that the grandkids would have a cool place to stay!
"I just had a daughter, my sister just had a new son. And I want to make it fit for the next generation," the 'Two and a Half Men' star explained. "They're going to be living with grandkids running around."
Ashton also opened up about how he had helped his stepfather Mark build the original house when he was just 13.
"The one thing that has eternally bonded my stepdad and I is that my stepdad loves my mom as much as I do," he sweetly shared of Mark's commitment to the project.
