In the third week, Kym talks about dancing the jive, her biggest competition and what she thought about the first elimination week. Check back every week for more scoop from Kym!

We had the jive last week, and we didn't get such great scores from the judges, so we took a bit of drop from Week 1. We just have to work extra hard this week! I thought we did really well. Jaleel was the one who came up with the idea for the costumes. He said, "I want to do a soda jerk kinda of thing!" We just went from there really. I was the girl and he was the guy serving drinks. Our song [Bruno Mars' Marry You] wasn't a traditional jive song; it was more of a contemporary piece. I was very happy with it! You can't please the judges all the time, though. I agreed with what they were saying. We needed to put a little bit more energy into it, and it could have been a little bit more wow! I don't think it was the best we had ever danced it. I think we probably did it better in rehearsal, and I think we could have gotten two more 8's instead of one 8 and two 7's [for a total of 22], but that's okay!
It was a lot to live up to from the first week [when judge Len Goodman said it was "the best first show of any season"]. Our first dance was really something special. [In Week 1, Kym and Jaleel received a score of 26 to tie for first place]. Jaleel has the groove of the show now. I had all my friends and Jaleel's family and friends in the audience. It definitely helps having people cheering you on and being a support team. It's very intimate in the room. The crowd gets really excited when you walk onto the dance floor.

It was just the second week, and with the first elimination, everyone was feeling a little bit more pressure. Everyone's first dance was flawless and the second week there were little stumbles and missteps. It was very upsetting to see [tennis legend] Martina Navratilova get eliminated. I used to sit next to Martina in the hair trailer and chat with her, so it was really upsetting when she left. That's the sad thing about the show: You become really close and really good friends with everybody and someone is being eliminated every week. She had a couple of missteps with her dance, which was very upsetting. Nobody ever wants to get lost in his or her routine, and it can definitely happen, so I felt really bad for her.

Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff were in the bottom two with Martina and Tony Dovolani, which surprised me! I think they're doing a really good job. They dodged the bullet, and I think people who saw them in the bottom two maybe will vote for them now.
Katherine Jenkins had an amazing week [she and partner Mark Ballas had the highest score of Week 2, a total of 26]. Katherine's definitely very, very good, and she's lovely. She's one of my favorite people.
William Levy and Cheryl Burke are definitely a crowd favorite. They're doing an amazing job, and the women still go crazy for William. The screams are just incredible. I honestly think some people might throw themselves off the balcony! Sherri Shepherd did an amazing jive. She's having so much fun and putting everything into it. She's absolutely hilarious, and that's what this show is about!
This week, Jaleel and I have a special surprise, something that means a lot to him. All his fans will be happy with it; it will be something in the dance. We have the rumba, the dance of love, the most passionate dance. It's going to be great!
