Gone but not forgotten. Ashely Tisdale took to Instagram on Friday, June 21, to reveal the tragic news that her dog Maui passed away. To honor her late furry pet, the Disney alum, 33, shared some kind words about her.

“I don’t even know how to say this,” she began the heartfelt post filled with Maui’s best memories — from her visit to Santa to silly pics. “This pain is the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Maui was my soulmate, the connection was unlike any other. She didn’t care who I was and what I did, she just loved me unconditionally.”

She began to further explain the special bond she and her husband, Christopher French, shared with the adorable teacup Maltipoo, who was roughly 11 years old. “@cmfrench and I knew with Maui she wasn’t just a dog she was something special. She had the purest soul. I know dogs don’t live as long as we do but why not? I wanted more time with her. I wasn’t ready for this and now I’m broken.”

She concluded, “I will miss you every single day of my life Maui, I will never forget how much joy and love you brought to me and @cmfrench. I can’t stop crying but hopefully in time that will heal but know you are always a part of me and one day we will be together again. My angel. My heart. #Maui.”

In October 2018, Ashley told Today’s “My Pet Tale” that Maui got her through many significant phases of her life. “She’s just been there for me, through the good times, the hard times. Definitely through my 20s — she helped get me through it, with all those, you know, lovely exes and dating,” she said at the time.

“She’s just like the best thing to talk to, and she doesn’t cut you off, so it’s really nice,” the “He Said, She Said” singer added. Our thoughts go out to Ashley during this difficult time.
