A ring as radiant as their love! Kevin Wendt melted Bachelor Nation’s hearts with his touching proposal on September 3, when he finally got down on one knee for girlfriend Astrid Loch. Her engagement ring is absolutely beautiful, and Kathryn Money, VP of Strategy & Merchandising for Brilliant Earth, gave Life & Style the exclusive details on the dazzler.

“Astrid’s stunning engagement ring appears to feature a two-carat, cushion-cut diamond on a delicate diamond accented setting,” the jewelry expert speculated based on her many years of experience. “The elegant simplicity of the ring’s design allows the gorgeous center diamond to be the focal point.” We couldn’t agree more.

While the ring is utterly beautiful, it certainly has a lower price point than the infamous Neil Lane rings Bachelor in Paradise contestants are given at no cost if they get engaged on the show. “Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center stone, we estimate the cost of the ring between approximately $20,000-$35,000,” Kathryn estimated. For reference, many Bachelor and Bachelorette rings cost as much as $100,000, but considering the fact that Kevin presumably paid out of pocket on a fireman’s salary, we’re still totally blown away!

Of course, Astrid and Kevin did have that opportunity to get themselves a free ring when they appeared on Bachelor in Paradise in 2018, but Kevin absolutely shocked fans by dumping Astrid right at the end of the show before fantasy suites. Luckily, it didn’t take long for him to come to his senses and beg for her to take him back. In December 2018, the couple revealed plans to move in together, and in 2019 Astrid joined her man in Canada. He popped the question later that summer, announcing the news by writing, “You’ll never walk alone again. From here on out, we run together. Astrid, you are my family, babe. Forever.” We wish them the very best in this exciting new journey!
