‘Bachelor’ Nation’s Danielle Maltby Opens Up About Life After Heartbreak: ‘The Thought Of Dating Leaves Me Terrified’

Former Bachelor in Paradise alum, Danielle Maltby, started dating Big Brother and Ex on the Beach contestant, Paul Calafiore, and it ended in a huge cheating scandal that involved another reality star, Cara Maria Sorbello. Paul and Cara stayed together after news of his infidelity broke, but Danielle is still “grieving” the relationship. She opened up to her followers on Instagram about how she’s been “struggling.”
“I don’t want to get out of bed,” the reality starlet said in the caption of a moody black-and-white photo. “Control the controllable they say. Well, I’ve tried that. I don’t like to show all my vulnerability, because it gets taken advantage of along with my love and kindness.”
Danielle admitted that the thought of dating is terrifying to her. She continued, “Most days I feel myself hardening since my relationship ended. I honestly believed I had found my person. He was everything to me.”
Danielle compared the feelings she has about this break up to the tragic death of her fiancé seven years ago. “I’ve been in this place before, after my fiancé died and that life was taken from me. This is different. You’re still here.”
“I’ve been slowly draining since the lies started and my ex cheated on me…I’ve been physically sick from the anxiety, stress, grief, and lies inflicted on me for months,” she continued.
After six months of dating, rumors surfaced that Paul had hooked up with Cara during an event in June. Paul seemingly admitted to his actions by telling E!, “I am not proud of my actions these past weeks. I know they speak louder than these words. I have destroyed the one person that has believed in and brought out the best in me. I have many things I need to work on and repair internally. I want to be better. I know I haven’t earned it, but I ask for patience and privacy while I work on repairing myself.”
Even though Paul and Cara are still (very publicly) dating, that hasn’t stopped him from sliding into Danielle’s DMs. The reality starlet claims her ex has been messaging her since they broke up. “Even this week, begging me to unblock him because ‘we are important in each other’s lives,'” she dished. “He has made himself believe that it’s ok to continue to tell me he needs me, misses me, still loves me and wants to fix everything. Actions speak louder than words.”
Paul and Cara have not commented on Danielle’s claims, but the messy break up seems to just be getting messier.
