Bachelor Nation Alum Shawn Booth Admits He’s ‘Upset’ Over Ex Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick’s Relationship

He’s Still Wrapping His Head Around It.

“[I’m] trying to understand things right now. I guess this goes with her new relationship too. It just kind of makes me question everything that we’ve had,” the fitness guru said during a sneak peek of Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s “Almost Famous: In Depth” attained by Us Weekly. “So I think that’s one of the major questions that runs through my mind — just trying to understand that, which I think is tough to understand.”

It’s Been About Three Months Since Their Split.

The pair officially called it quits at the beginning of November after three years together. “This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends. We have both evolved as people, which is taking us in different directions, but with the hope that we will continue to support each other in new ways,” they said in a joint statement.

In The End, It Just Didn’t Work.

After getting engaged on season 11 of The Bachelorette in 2015, it was revealed they just weren’ t on “the same page.” The 33-year-old podcast host realized “there were some important fundamental values that weren’t lining up” and there were “some things we’d probably never see eye-to-eye on.”

Shawn Is Trying To Stay Positive.

“I do care about her, so I am happy that she doesn’t have to, I guess, deal with, maybe, all the pain and the heartbreak because it seems like she’s moved on and she’s happy. It does make me a little more comfortable knowing that she’s not at home at our empty house, so I look at it from that point of view,” he continued to tell Ben and Ashley during the interview, which airs on January 27.

He’s Moving On.

He continued, “I also think that it’s helping me to move on because it does hurt that much, but seeing everything, it does upset me and does make me a little angry, but it also helps me to move on knowing that maybe we weren’t right for each other and that I will find somebody down the road that also makes me happy.”

Apparently, That Means He’s Not Seeing Anyone.

One month after the couple announced their split, the personal trainer and ESPN personality and WWE host Charly Arnolt (Caruso) fueled romance rumors after attending a few events together.

It Wasn’t Easy For His Ex To See, Either.

“I didn’t even read the article, I didn’t even look her up. I don’t want to know because you know what, he has the right to hang out with whoever he wants, and as much as it can, even when you’re ready — like you know that’s not your person — it still stings,” Kaitlyn said at the time.

Their Relationship Did Have Some Low Points.

Shawn admitted about vying for the dancer’s rose. “It was a pretty dramatic season,” he continued to say during the podcast interview. “I’m not going to lie and sugarcoat it and say it was all roses right out of the gates. I think we had a tough time with our relationship in, like, the second week of the season. We went through all different types of ups and downs.”

Things Got Tough.

He further explained, “And then obviously once we’re engaged and we’re able to announce that we’re together, we’re happy, we’re excited and then you still have to deal with other issues … I had a tough time on that show. It was always a battle of my heart vs. my brain. I think the whole Nick situation was a big part of our relationship.”

Nick Viall Didn’t Help, But When Does He?

The 38-year-old made it far on Kaitlyn’s season, and fans were shocked when the two got intimate before the fantasy suites. Ben asked Shawn if he was able to move past seeing that happen to which the reality star responded that it was “always in the back of my mind.” Although Nick has since denied having sex with the former Bachelorette, the damage was already done.

And Then There Was Jason And Kaitlyn.

After weeks of flirting on social media, the Canadian asked the New York native, “Jason, are you finally going to ask me on a date?” during an episode of her podcast.

He Played It Cool.

“You’re making me blush over here Kaitlyn,” he quipped. “I mean if we’re both going to be in the same city at the same time I see no reason why we shouldn’t go to dinner or grab drinks.”

It Happened!

On January 11, the pair followed through and actually went on a date in Denver that they covered extensively on social media.

Their date consisted of drinks and lots of dancing. They do make the sweetest couple.

Round Two.

The very next day, Kaitlyn and Jason were at it again. The two went out on the town and looked like they had another fabulous night. The day after that, we couldn’t breathe because they went on a THIRD date. Three days, three dates, we can’t handle it.

They’ve Made Things Official.

The reality starlet dropped the B-word during a recent episode of her podcast. “It’s actually so strange to go from being engaged to thinking of someone as your boyfriend,” she said. “Because I feel like that’s taking a step backwards — it’s not. It’s not. If anything, it’s taking a step forward because you’re just growing and evolving as a person.”
