Um, wait — are we reading this right?! Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel revealed she would be leaving the Bravo TV series (for the second time, mind you) after 11 wonderful years with the franchise. Now, she’s taken to Twitter to ~casually confess~ she’s apparently married as well, just two days after news of her departure broke.
“To my NY hwives: GO GET EM! I had to go since I’m the only one that is actually married,” the 48-year-old wrote very early in the morning on August 23. “That’s how crazy this ride is. You are all amazing, beautiful and strong. Spread your wings and fly! Xoxo” She then went on to tag her costars Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Tinsley Mortimer, Sonja Morgan and Dorinda Medley.
Needless to say, fans and followers absolutely freaked out about the nonchalance of the news — and demanded some serious clarification in their responses. “We need answers! Almost as much as we need you to stay on the show,” one fan sweetly wrote, while another questioned, “Did I miss something? Did you get married?!?!?!?! OMG really?!”
Other fans remarked at her timing, considering the post was made in the middle of the night when most fans would take a little while to catch on. “Dropping bombs at 4 am 💣💥👑,” one follower noted, while others praised her method of announcement. “Is this an announcement??? So so happy if it is, well played,” another fan gushed, while one user shared more well wishes, “Best way to announce!!!! Congrats B! We want nothing but the best for you!!!”
But perhaps the best comment was one that hinted at a bunch of ~incidents~ from her RHONY past. “Congratulations! In Palm Beach? On a yacht? Was Missy invited? Did Ramona sit at Dorinda’s table? Did you have a Cabaret singer? Were there fish on the wall? Was Tinsley’s frozen dog invited? Do tell!” the fan hilariously wrote.
Bethenny started seeing her boyfriend, Paul Bernon, back in November 2018, and things have been going well ever since. When the entrepreneur dealt with a life-threatening allergy scare in December 2018, the reality star attributed her film producer man with “saving her life.”
Despite the fact that fans had a little freak-out over the choice of words, the Bravo alum took to her Instagram Stories in the afternoon on August 23 to set the record straight. “I’m not newly married,” she told her followers. “Believe me, when there is something to tell you, I will tell you.”
Technically, she is the “only legally married Housewife” on the show, which is what she says she was referring to. According to ex Jason Hoppy‘s lawyer, the divorce still “isn’t finalized.” Well, even if we were hoping for a little celebration of love, that doesn’t mean there can’t be one coming in the future. Fingers crossed!
