So Little Time, So Much Love! How Long Is ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ ~Actually~ Filmed For?

Contestants on Bachelor in Paradise get engaged and fall in love so quickly on the beach in Mexico, but how long do they actually know each other for? Well, it’s actually a pretty short period of time! Even though the show is only on television for six weeks, the reality stars only film for about 21 days, Reality Steve reported.

Bachelor in Paradise begins August 5th and 6th and will run every Monday and Tuesday night for six weeks. The show filmed for about 21 days in June,” he wrote on his blog in July. However, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette is a little longer as it films for about three months.

A rose ceremony happens each week (for the most part) on our television screens, but these elimination process actually occur every three to four days. So, really, the ABC stars are coming and going every few days.

Obviously when the Bachelor Nation people are filming, they don’t have any interaction with the outside world, a.k.a. social media. Hannah Godwin didn’t post from June 4 until July 1 while Demi Burnett wasn’t active on the ‘Gram from June 3 until July 1.

It’s scary to propose to someone that you don’t ~really~ know, but clearly, it works for past contestants including Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, Carly Waddell and Evan Bass, Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt and Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk — who are all happily engaged or married! However, it makes sense that it happens since the stars are left to hang out on the beach without any phones or distractions. Think about it — there’s no ghosting and no swiping, so the people have to talk to one another and entertain themselves while they are in another country. Also, Glamour reported that the hotel they stay in has no air conditioning, so you’re essentially forced to bond over how hot you are.

During the Tuesday, September 17, episode, three happy couples — Hannah and Dylan Barbour, Demi and Kristian Haggerty and Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski — left Mexico happily engaged, and it seems like they couldn’t be more thrilled that they found their person. That’s the point of BIP, right?
