The plot thickens. Bachelorette contestant Jed Wyatt‘s alleged ex-girlfriend, Haley Stevens, claimed that she knew something was up with their relationship when Hannah Brown‘s brother started following her on Instagram before the musician returned home to Nashville. Haley alleges that she and Jed were dating when he left to be on the show. She also said they were planning to stay together because he was just going on to promote his music, a detail he confessed to Hannah during their first-one-on-one date. Caution: Spoilers for Hannah’s season are below. Do not keep reading if you don’t want to know what happens.

“The night of the premiere, Hannah’s brother followed me on Instagram,” Haley divulged to Reality Steve during his podcast that went live on Thursday, June 27. The blonde beauty explained that she remembered the night very vividly. “I went to dinner with my mom and sister because I didn’t want to be anywhere near a TV.”

The country songstress admitted that it seemed like a weird thing to happen since her supposed beau hadn’t returned from filming yet. “This was before Jed even got home,” she continued. “Immediately, I’m like, ‘Why?’ Alarms kind of start sounding, I get a little uneasy. Like, why does he know about me? Why is he following me? That just seems way too coincidental.” At the time of publication, Hannah’s brother, Patrick, still follows Haley on Instagram.

Haley noted that she wasn’t sure what the simple follow meant but she figured it couldn’t have been a good thing. She said, “I’m like, ‘OK, that’s strange.’ Jed’s still not back. At this point, I’m preparing myself. He’s definitely not going to come back and still love me. But, at least, maybe I’ll get some sort of explanation. Or, at least, a head’s up of what I can kind of expect here.”

Spoiler alert! Jed and Hannah are currently engaged. Haley exclusively dished to Life & Style that she was crushed when she found out. “I’m sure Hannah is heartbroken after seeing this. I don’t know if she knew, if she didn’t, if she was blindsided, I can’t even begin to know,” she said. “Just like hearing yesterday that they are engaged was unbelievably painful for me.” She added, “I don’t blame him for falling in love with Hannah. I hope it is real.”

Yikes, time will tell how this unravels.
