Remember Season 1 of Jersey Shorewhere the alcohol was flowing, grenades were everywhere, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was the biggest jerk anyone had seen on reality TV? A conceited hothead and a womanizer, Mike was the guy everyone loved to hate. Fast forward to 2018, the world has been blessed with a brand new Sitch! On Dec. 22, Mike celebrated three years of sobriety by giving back to people who also have struggled with substance abuse in his community.

“Big daddy Sitch celebrating [three] years of sobriety [and] teaming up with @discoveryinstitute_nj to bring a holiday meal to Phoenix Recovery House in Eatontown, NJ for Christmas,” Mike captioned a cute photo of him animatedly speaking at the recovery facility.

Back in the early JShore days, you’d probably never see Mike doing something like this, so it’s great to see how he’s grown. His co-stars undoubtedly feel the same, and several of them hit the comments section on his post to share their well wishes.

“Congratulations my brother,” DJ Pauly D commented his support, complete with a prayer hands emoji. “Congratulations, extremely proud of you! My inspiration,” Jenni Farley aka JWoww also sent Mike some love, with a few heart emojis tacked on the end.

“No invite but congrats anyway. Let’s get another [three] years then another then another then another… one day at a time,” Vinny Guadagnino sent his love mixed with a little dry humor. Sitch loved it and responded with a few laughing emojis — and they both used the rowboat emoji, undoubtedly to signify the struggle of addiction.

Mike’s heartwarming sobriety anniversary comes ahead of his looming eight-month prison sentence, due to start in mid-January. Mike will serve time on tax evasion charges. But Vinny exclusively revealed to Life & Style that he isn’t too worried about Mike in prison because Vinny knows Mike can handle it.
