We love an auntie update! Thanks to Ashlee Simpson, we now know that third-time mama Jessica Simpson is doing “amazing” and “so great” in the first few days after giving birth to her new daughter, Birdie Mae, with husband Eric Johnson.

“Oh my gosh, she is so cute. Little Birdie,” the 34-year-old raved about her new niece during an appearance on Daily Pop on March 22. “She’s got these, like, adorable cheeks.”

She also revealed that the 38-year-old’s other children — Maxwell, 6, and Ace, 5 — are head over heels for their new sister, as if the whole situation wasn’t already sweet enough. “The kids were so cute — Jessica’s kids with their little baby sister,” Ashlee gushed sweetly.

In fact, the whole thing was so sugary sweet, it definitely gave the Ashlee + Evan star an idea or two. “I’m not pregnant, but it definitely gave me the fever a little bit,” she admitted. Ash and her husband Evan Ross already have one child together, a three-year-old daughter named Jagger, while Ashlee also shares 10-year-old son Bronx with ex-hubby Pete Wentz.

Jessica took to social media to share the great news on March 20, just a day after giving birth. “Birdie Mae Johnson, 3.19.19, 10 pounds 13 ounces,” she wrote on Twitter, accompanied by a lovely black and white pic of the newborn holding hands with one of her other children.

The fashion designer definitely hasn’t had the easiest go of her pregnancy, so we’re glad to hear she’s doing a lot better! The singer shared a few straight-forward pics of her swollen feet, asking fans for advice on how to reduce the swelling. She even accidentally broke her own toilet seat at one point during the “jess-tation” period, as she called the nine-month period.

But it’s clear Jess loves her family so much, she couldn’t wait to expand it just a bit more. “The one thing that gets me through this pregnancy is knowing I will get another one of these cuties,” she captioned a photo of her two kids on Instagram.

Congrats to the new mama (and auntie)!
