She’s got a type! Joey King is no stranger to a Hollywood romance, having dated a few famous faces since her claim to fame. The actress may be engaged to producer Steven Piet, but her most famous relationship is with Jacob Elordi.

Joey and met the Australian actor on the set of the first Kissing Booth film, in which they starred opposite one another. Initially, their connection was platonic, though the Los Angeles native revealed she thought Jacob was “cute” when they first met in 2017.

“Before long I started to realize, ‘Hey, I think I kind of like this person!’ It was such an interesting experience meeting your boyfriend on set because you spend so much time together and become so close so fast,” Joey told Bello magazine in May 2018. “We were spending 17 hours a day together, and all of us would hang out after work and watch movies together and stuff. It was great.”

Their love was on full-display throughout the press junket for the first Netflix film — but their romance had fizzled out by November 2018 when they quietly split. The original Kissing Booth film became immensely popular for the streaming service, so the exes were forced to act as a couple in two sequels.

However, Joey and her former flame seemed to be ready and willing to put their past aside for the good of the movie. “What’s the most, um, correct way to go about this?” Joey told Cosmopolitan in their August 2020 issue. “Elle Evans needs her Noah Flynn, and whatever that means for my personal life, I’ll do anything to make sure the story of my character who I care about so much is complete.”

After Jacob, the starlet went on to cozy up to The Act producer Steven. They started dating in September 2019 and were first spotted at a Harry Potter screening alongside Joey’s sisters and their boyfriends. While they kept things under wraps during the early days of their relationship, the duo shared their love for each other when announcing their February 2022 engagement.

“I never knew happiness could be so powerful that it can take the air from your lungs, overwhelming every part of you that you can’t help but feel your eyes well from the undeniable joy. I never knew that a person’s presence and heart could feel like a real home. I never knew love could be so unquestionably beautiful. I never knew until you,” Joey wrote on Instagram a month after Steven got down on one knee. “The date was 2/2/22 when you asked me to marry you and made me the luckiest lady alive. I love you more than an Instagram caption could ever do justice. Hanging out with you forever sounds like a real dream, so let’s do it.”
