Adorable! Khloé Kardashian revealed the name of her and Tristan Thompson’s son, Tatum Thompson, during the Kardashians season 3 premiere, which aired via Hulu on Thursday, May 25. The baby boy‘s unique moniker has the sweetest meaning.

“Naming a human is really hard,” Khloé, 38, admitted during her confessional. Tatum is of English origin and means “Tate’s homestead” and describes someone who is “strong, distinctive, energetic,” according to Nameberry.com.

The Good American founder and NBA player, 31, welcomed their second child together via surrogate on July 28, 2022. The pair also share their daughter, True Thompson, who was born on April 12, 2018.

Despite Khloé ending things with Tristan after finding out he cheated on her and fathered a son named Theo with Maralee Nichols, who was born in December 2021, the reality TV star gushed that she was feeling “so grateful” about her son’s arrival.

“It’s such a beautiful gift that we’re able to have,” she said during the season 2 premiere of the Kardashians, which dropped on Hulu in September 2022.

“Ever since December, it’s been this dark cloud looming over me. Every single day, I’ve been feeling depressed and sad, and now that my son is here, I get to move on, and I get to enjoy. It’s almost like I get to close that chapter and be done with this trauma and put it behind me,” the Keeping up With the Kardashians alum explained.

The Revenge Body host made it clear she was fully embracing motherhood. “Now, I finally get to start the healing process. Now, I get to start enjoying my life with two kids in it and figuring this out,” she continued. “This is gonna be day one, and this is gonna be the start of something positive, and happy and beautiful.”

Although things with Tristan are over, Khloé allowed the Canadian athlete to be present at the hospital for their baby boy’s birth.

“I’ve been on the fence about letting Tristan come to the hospital or not, but Tristan wants to be here,” Khloé said. “I just figured, why not let him come? I’ll never get this moment back.”

Khloé admitted she kept the surrogate’s pregnancy a secret publicly for as long as possible due to the timing of Tristan’s cheating scandal.

In June 2021, Maralee sued Tristan for paternity after they conceived their son in March 2021, while the Chicago Bulls forward was still in a relationship with Khloé.

However, the reality star said that she found out about his and Maralee’s affair and child with the rest of the world when news broke about the scandal just days before Theo’s birth on December 1, 2021. At that point, Khloé and Tristan’s embryos had already been transferred into the surrogate.

“I want to keep this private for my loved ones as long as possible,” Khloé said on The Kardashians about announcing baby No. 2. “I can’t hear about this for months, about what an idiot I am, what a dumb f—k I am … I can’t even begin to think about that.”

She admitted that she was “very scared” about the backlash she was bound to receive after conceiving a baby with the athlete, who had already been involved in two prior public cheating scandals during their relationship, including with her sister Kylie Jenner’s ex-best friend Jordyn Woods in February 2019.

“I think I’m emotionally equipped but … I have to brace myself for when this goes public,” she said. “Everyone is so mean … and you want to protect this innocent being who had nothing to do with this.”
