Kim Kardashian Admits That Sometimes She Doesn’t ‘Understand’ Kanye West, and That’s OK
Honesty hour. Kim Kardashian spilled details about how her marriage to Kanye West works and confessed that she doesn’t even “understand” him all the time. However, the couple — who has been married for over five years — keeps their relationship strong by finding compromise and acceptance.
“The one consistent thing is our relationship has never stopped being fun,” the 39-year-old gushed to The Cut in an interview published on November 25. “And it’s OK to not understand each other. It’s OK to not have the same exact feelings all the time.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star continued by noting that they use certain moments as learning experiences. “It’s just about figuring out how do we grow from that? Or, what’s the lesson from that? And giving each other space and time to figure that out,” she explained.
Kim admitted that her marriage has helped her evolve in more than one way. When it was pointed out that the KKW Beauty founder has been dressing “less sexy” lately, she didn’t deny it. “I think I have a little bit,” the brunette beauty acknowledged. “I don’t know if it’s the fact that my husband has voiced that sometimes too sexy is just overkill and he’s not comfortable with that. I listen to him and understand him. Still, at the end of the day, he always gives me the freedom to be and do what I want.”
It wasn’t just the 42-year-old rapper’s opinion that made her think twice about what she posts. Her four kids — North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm — also had an impact. “But I have kind of had this awakening myself. I realized I could not even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed pretty much all the time. And I definitely contributed to that,” she added.
While it’s obvious Kim adores her hubby, the rapper dished that he also loves this new chapter in his life. “People thought it would be uncool to be married. Then, I got married and people were like, ‘Oh, that looks cool,’” Kanye explained to James Corden during Carpool Karaoke at the end of October. “It’s more than cool. It’s more than cool as hell or something, it’s heavenly, it’s great, it’s magnificent.”
