Kim Kardashian Felt a ‘Sense of Pressure’ Ahead of 2019 Met Gala in ‘KUWTK’ Sneak Peek
Even Kim Kardashian gets nervous! In a new sneak peek for the upcoming season 17 of the longrunning E! reality TV series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, cameras captured all of the behind-the-scenes moments leading up to the 2019 Met Gala for Kim and her sisters, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner.
“It’s the morning of the Met and I keep on saying, ‘I don’t know why I have such anxiety for the Met.’ I feel this sense of pressure, responsibility,” the 38-year-old revealed in her confessional.
“This is probably as nerve-wracking as my wedding. Like, I don’t know why, I get so nervous for the Met. Maybe even more so. Just cause there’s pictures from every single angle,” Kim explained as she got her makeup done.
Part of the reason why Kim was extra nervous was because she was wearing a gown designed by retired fashion powerhouse, Thierry Mugler. “This year, I’m wearing Thierry Mugler for the Met Ball. I feel like I’ve always had this like, deep connection with Mugler, honestly. It’s such a full circle dream come true. But it’s like a huge responsibility for me because he, I’m sure, after not designing for 20 years, wants it to be something magical and special and new and I just want it to be perfect,” Kim said.
Cameras captured every second of Kim, Kendall and Kylie’s prep for their appearances at the Met Gala. While fitting into her gown, Kim explained why she was nervous about her look. “I have anxiety with how tight this is. I can’t breathe,” she said as she was getting dressed.
Before heading out, Kim asked her makeup artist, to say one more prayer for her. “Dear God, please help Kim to breathe and be calm and to look her absolute most gorgeous she’s ever looked in her entire life this evening. She can breathe and she will hold her piss in, Amen,” he said.
Season 17 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians premieres on E! on Sunday, September 8, at 9 p.m. ET.
