You go, duchess! Meghan Markle wrote a heartwarming editor’s letter for the September issue of British Vogue, which she had secretly been working on for months. In the note, she talks through the amazing time she had working while pregnant with Archie. The royal even confessed that she continued hustling on the issue through her maternity leave.

“I was about five months pregnant when this process began, and by the time you hold this issue in your hands, my husband and I will be holding our three-month-old baby boy in ours,” the 37-year-old began her intimate letter. She and Prince Harry welcomed their firstborn on May 6 and the new parents are completely smitten with their sweet son.

The Suits actress couldn’t help but gush about how unique it was to work on this huge career milestone while carrying her precious babe. She continued, “It’s a very special time for me personally, on so many levels; working with Edward and his team, both during my pregnancy and my maternity leave, has played no small part in that joy – it has been a privilege to be welcomed and supported by this amazing team.”

During her early planning meetings with British Vogue editor, Edward Enninful, the two discussed how “one can shine light in a world filled with seemingly daily darkness.” Their end goal was to create “an issue of both substance and levity.” Considering the magazine featured icons like Michelle Obama, there’s no doubt the duchess delivered.

“Some, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and enlisted personally for this issue, others I’ve admired from afar for their commitment to a cause, their fearlessness in breaking barriers, or what they represent simply by being,” Meghan concluded her message. “These are our forces for change. And among all of these strong women on the cover, a mirror – a space for you, the reader, to see yourself. Because you, too, are part of this collective.”

Keep slaying, Meghan!
