She’s cute even when she’s quiet — especially on her birthday! Singer Miley Cyrus celebrated her 27th birthday with family and friends in Nashville on November 23, including new boyfriend Cody Simpson. However, this big day was a little different than most as the pop star was on vocal rest, dubbing the occasion a “silent birthday.”

“I will never forget my silent 27th birthday,” she wrote over a photo of herself in a plastic gold crown blowing out candles on a heart-shaped cake on her Instagram Story. “Thanks to all my family and friends who made it so special!”

In a second post to her Stories, the blonde beauty shared another photo from the celebration. This one featured her Australian singer boyfriend chowing down next to her as she checked her phone. The duo sat underneath gold “27” balloons. “A silent birthday looks like this,” she wrote over the photo. “(I have an [app] that helps me communicate but it really botches the comedic timing.)”

LOL! It’s good to see Miley’s still rocking her wacky sense of humor despite being unable to vocalize it in the moment. In November, the songstress had surgery on her vocal cords which came after a tonsillitis surgery in October. Needless to say, the girl has been through it. Because of the extensive procedures, the southern babe is on an extended vocal rest.

That being said, her new man, 22, has been ~on it~ when it comes to supporting her through this tough time in her health. In fact, the hunk came through to the hospital to visit Miley back in October — and he even brought his guitar to serenade her.

“This sweeeeeet [sic] guy came to visit at the hospital and sang the sweeeeeetest [sic] song he just wrote for me,” Miley captioned one of a series of several videos of him plucking away. “It’s too special to only be heard in full by my ears so I am currently pressuring him to DROP IT next week … [and] it’s working.” The crooner released the get well track, titled “Golden Thing,” shortly after the tease.

Happy birthday, Miley!
