Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Went Away for Thanksgiving and Celebrated With ‘Close Family’
While Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan (née Markle) are royals, they’re not that different from the rest of us — especially when it comes to celebrating the holidays. It turns out, the couple spent their first Thanksgiving with their son, Archie, with their loved ones.
“The Sussexes are away, they’re on their break right up until Christmas. They celebrated Thanksgiving privately with close family, which is lovely,” Omid Scobie revealed on his podcast “The HeirPod Podcast.”
It’s not confirmed which relatives they spent the holiday with, but considering Thanksgiving is American, it’s quite possible it was with Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland. They’re also planning to spend Christmas with her, and by the looks of it, they make be taking a break until then. “It’s a long-time trip that they’re on, I think we are really going to see them away until Christmas as far as I’m aware, which is good for them,” the royal spokesperson added.
We’re sure this getaway is much needed for the both of them — especially after the Suits alum got candid about the negativity she faces from being in the spotlight. “As a woman, it’s really — it’s a lot,” Meg recently divulged to ITV News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom and trying to be a newlywed … And also thank you for asking, because not many people will have asked if I’m OK. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
Thankfully, though, the former actress has the support from her hubby, who is making sure to make the best of their time off. “Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Harry and Meghan will only be making a few appearances so they’ll be able to wind down and reset for the new year,” a source exclusively divulged to Life & Style.
The insider continued, “They’re looking forward to spending some quality family time together, and Harry’s planning lots of romantic surprises for Meghan to help her switch off.” In addition, to help Meghan out, Harry goes above and beyond with daddy duties to make sure she gets the rest she needs. What a considerate husband!
