Now that the excitement of the royal baby’s birth has worn off just *a little* bit, it’s time to analyze the darling photos and footage of Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and their newborn, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, posing together for the first time. With that, Life & Style reached out to body language expert and author of Persuasion Point: Body Language and Speech for Influence, Traci Brown, to get the scoop!

“I bet she was nervous about the delivery and is glad it’s all over!” Traci explained of Meghan’s big sigh of relief in the clip. “Then we see her shake her head in disbelief. I’m betting she just can hardly believe how cute little Archie is,” she continued.

To be fair, we can hardly believe how cute Archie is. So, it would totally make sense for Meghan, 37, to feel that tenfold. “She’s got such a genuine smile,” Traci noted. “She’s really happy — as you’d expect a new parent to be,” adding, “That’s a smile with your eyes, not just your mouth.”

In the words of Tyra Banks, Meghan was basically smizing from ear to ear. As for the Duchess’ position in the photos, many people have pointed out that Meghan is standing slightly behind her handsome hubby. As it happens, there’s a perfectly good explanation for that. “Maybe for a little protection,” Traci surmised.

It seems perfectly natural that a new mama would want to keep her baby safe! So much so, that the former Suits actress had the softest touch with Archie. “She’s ever so gently pointing at the baby — just barely stroking him. That’s how gently she’s treating the little guy,” Traci concluded. We can’t wait to see more pictures of the gorgeous family in the weeks to come.
