Sydney Sweeney Flaunts Bikini Body in Underwater Shoot Amid Jonathan Davino Split Rumors

Swimming into a new chapter? Sydney Sweeney left fans in awe while flaunting her bikini body in an underwater shoot amid recent rumors that she and fiancé Jonathan Davino have called it quits.

The Anyone but You star, 27, took to Instagram on Thursday, March 27, with a snap of herself submerged in crystal clear water while wearing a white high-cut, triangle-shaped bikini with a black trim. Sydney channeled mermaid vibes as she stretched her arms out behind her and bent her knees to pose in the water. In the caption, the actress simply added a wave emoji.

“The most magical mermaid,” Sydney’s pal Amber Asaly, who was tagged in the post, wrote in the comments.

Another fan added, “She’s a princess, she’s an adventurer, she’s a mermaid, she’s everything.”

“How can you be so hot underwater?” a third fan commented.

Sydney’s post came days after she fueled the rumors of her split from Jonathan, 41, with a cryptic post on Instagram. On March 25, the Euphoria actress shared snaps from her hot air balloon ride on a girls’ trip to Tanzania, Africa, adding the caption, “Only up from here.” Fans in the comments questioned why Sydney’s fiancé did not seem to be present for the adventure.

“We never see you with your fiancé. Only girl friends,” one user wrote.

Earlier this month, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Sydney seemingly deleted a photo of herself kissing Jonathan on New Year’s. DeuxMoi reported on the photo removal on Monday, March 24.

“This information has been soft launched, but I did hear that Sydney Sweeney and her fiancé have been separated for a couple of months now. They are split. It was amicable between them,” the outlet later reported in a teaser for the March 27 episode of the “Deux/U” podcast.

Sydney and Jonathan, who got engaged in 2022 after four years of dating, were reportedly slated to tie the knot in May of this year. However, sources told TMZ in February that the pair had postponed their nuptials “because of the couple’s busy schedule.”

Now, a source told Us Weekly that the wedding was reportedly called off due to problems in the relationship.

“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” the insider said. “Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”

The source continued, “They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”

As for what reportedly went wrong between the pair, who were first linked in 2018, the insider said that Sydney’s busy schedule played a big role.

“A lot of their issues stem from Sydney being extremely busy with work commitments. She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together,” the insider noted, adding that the Washington native giving her “full attention” to work caused friction with her fiancé.

“People always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars,” the source said, referring to the romance rumors that surrounded her and Glen Powell during Anyone but You press. “It’s a tough dynamic for Jonathan.”

Glen, 36, denied that he and Sydney had an offscreen romance in a 2023 interview on Today.

“No, but we do love each other. And, honestly, this is one of the most spectacular humans I’ve ever met. She’s really great,” he said at the time.
