Holiday movies to watch on Netflix this month

The Princess Switch

The Parent Trap meets Disney Channel’s Model Behavior in the Netflix’s The Princess Switch. The movie stars Vanessa Hudgens as not one but TWO characters. The plot is about a down-to-earth baker and princess who decide to switch places, and shenanigans ensue (as you can imagine). Sounds like everything we want in a holiday movie.

The Christmas Chronicles

This movie stars Kurt Russell, so you’re already winning right there. After crashing Santa’s sleigh, a brother and sister have to help a non-traditional Santa finish his route. To give you an idea of the vibe, this movie was made by the same people who created Home Alone.

The movie is obvioulsy hilarious and will bring a jolt of Christmas joy to help you believe in Santa once more. Also, again, Kurt Russell.

This movie has a seriously fun (and festive) plot. After receiving an antique Advent calendar from her grandmother, a young photographer notices it’s able to predict her future. She finds herself (and maybe love) in the process.

We stan a girl who goes after what she wants, even while dressed like an elf. It also looks like our lead has a bit of a love triangle on her hands.

A Christmas Prince

This movie isn’t new, but if you haven’t seen it, just watch it, OK? Plus, you’ll need to catch up on how a reporter found love with a prince in a faraway land to be able to watch the sequels (more on that next).

This movie isn’t exactly about Christmas, more so it takes place around Christmas. A group of strangers gets stuck in a liquor store during a robbery on Christmas Eve. What unfolds are a lot of surprises about the characters. Honestly, we shouldn’t say any more in fear of giving something away.

Dax Shepard shines in this, and the storyline is great for people who would prefer a “Diehard” Christmas vibe.

This movie concept is an oldie but a goodie. Rich girl will inherit her family company one day but needs to visit a small town to prove she’s responsible. Rich girl then learns life lessons and the spirit of the holidays. Rich girl may or may not fall in love in the process. We stan an instant classic.

The fact that the main character drinks too much at a party and knocks over a Christmas tree at the beginning is a great kick-off to the story. We’re here for it.
