Innnteresting. Before the Men Tell All special on July 22, controversial contestant Luke Parker released a statement about why he went on The Bachelorette and what he claims Hannah Brown told him about fantasy suite dates. After a tumultuous relationship throughout the season, the Alabama beauty gave him the boot during fantasy suite dates when he confronted her about which other contestants she had physical relationships with.

“I want you all to know why I went on this TV show and why I went back for [Hannah Brown] after she sent me home,” Luke began a lengthy post on Instagram. “I never wanted to go on the show to begin with. My sister-in-law … signed me up and I kept an open mind.”

Hannah first caught Luke’s eye as a contestant on Colton Underwood‘s season. “Going through the interview process I watched Colton’s season and a beautiful southern girl stood out to me during the intro videos,” he explained. “She told the cameras she respected Colton’s virginity and that it was super appealing to her that he was a virgin, and was The Bachelor because sex was a big deal to her … I also noticed she told Colton how she wanted to be a wife of noble character.” He noted, “I knew she was quoting Proverbs 31 which gave me the impression there is a way God could use this show.”

The contestant said he “was sold” and decided that he would go on the show “for her.” Luke and Hannah heated up quickly and he received the first impression rose.

This is where things get interesting. Luke then alludes to the idea that the former beauty queen said that she had no plans of getting physical in the fantasy suites. “On my hometown date, I brought Hannah to a Bible study with my college church group, where I shared my story of how God transformed my life,” the Georgia native recalled, including that he was a born-again virgin and now waiting until marriage.

“Hannah on the date stands up and tells the group her story of how she was convicted to live a life in pursuit of Jesus,” Luke claimed. “She also told them that she wasn’t going to use the fantasy suites for sex but for conversation, no matter how [ABC] made it look.” Just for the record, even if Hannah said this, it doesn’t mean she’s not allowed to change her mind later.

Luke was sent home after their explosive argument. Later, during the rose ceremony, as Hannah was telling the cameras that she had “no regret” over sending him home, he crashed the rose ceremony. It did not go well and ended with the leading lady yelling at him to go home.

He continued to unpack his awkward decision to return. “I had to go back and fight for her,” he admitted. “I believed in my heart she was making the biggest mistake of her life based on what she was telling me, I wanted her to know that we could get through this and I was here for her.” The season’s most tense contestant added the final thought: “Of course, all of these conversations were left out and I’m an ‘evil pathological liar’ so believe what you want.”

It looks like Luke finally got to say his peace.
