Amy Purdy is on her way to the hospital after suffering an injury on tonight's episode of Dancing With the Stars, Life & Style can confirm.
"She's on her way to the hospital and won't be doing the team dance," a source tells the mag.
During her performance with partner Derek Hough on Latin Night, the Paralympics bronze medalist hurt her back.
"Her family frantically ran out in the middle of the taping and she was being checked by medics," the insider shares.
The pair a scored a 36 out of 40 for their Rumba. They're currently in third place overall.
"My shoulder's been bothering me a little bit," Amy explained to host Erin Andrews after they finished. "It's been fine, though, just kind of sore. And then right after judging I turned my head and my back cracked and it just seized up and everything's painful right now. It's hard to breathe."
As for the team dances, Erin explained they were going to play the footage back from the dress rehearsal and the judges will judge from that.
The 34-year-old, who had her legs amputated at the age of 19 after contracting a form of bacterial meningitis, has become a fan favorite over the past few weeks -- and has continuously garnered high scores from the judges.
“My legs haven’t disabled me at all,” Amy recently told Life & Style, “if anything, they’ve enabled me – they’re the reason I continue to challenge myself.”
